not being mr doom and gloom but I won't be doing it anytime soon.

Can usually beat most stuff away as long as you don't mind vtec in 1st gear (and the engine screaming like a banshee)
I had to cog down into first the other day when the car in front braked hard going around a roundabout, to make sure I would out accelerate the car on my left when the obstruction got out of my way. I was most impressed with the easy way it changed down (I normally only use first from rest) and I love the sound from 9.5k's on the dial through 1st and 2nd gear's (and the little dance from the back end)!

Changing down to first is awesome - rev match and it just slots in -

I honestly cannot see why you bods bother about it. Most mass-produced cars are pretty good at take off. Why try to beat them - what are you trying to prove? The very fact that they are trying to show you up means that they know they are only driving a beater.
Just wave at them and let them get on with it. They know that you are in a class car which can make mincemeat of them on the open road, paricularly on the bends. I found that in Spain last year. So many cars tried to show they could outrun the S but they then lost it on the bends and they were then shown a clean pair of exhaust trims.

Life is for living, not for proving anything. At my age, I've been there, done that, now I just wear the tee-shirt!

Best one is to rev, move forwards and brake, whilst the lights are still red.

Many a boy racer will charge into oncoming traffic, if you sell him a pup!

would that be sitting in the right hand lane that merges into the left hand lane or sitting in teh left hand lane and out gunning folk trying to get in front of you?

i got quite annoyed with a wee seat ibiza further down that road today just before the kfc/speed camera.

before that i had came up behind him (in the 40 zone) and he grudgingly moved over - so i blasted past and then slowed down to about 33/34 when it became a 30 - he had pulled back out behind me and was sitting on my bumper - i stayed at that speed - it is a 30 after all - this guy wasn't happy with that though so he under takes me just before the speed camera and goes through the camera doing at least 38/40 ish - the camera didn't go off though - anyway i got through the camera and proceeded to let him hear some vtec

happens quite a lot on that road - folk are doing 50 ish i the 40 zone and don't really slow down when it becomes a 30 - i always do 'cause i'm a nice boy but some folks just don't want to obey the law... not that i'm an angel but i save it for b-roads/motorways (unless someone needs a lesson or two or three).

rant over
