There's a couple of times recently I've used the key to lock the car as the alarm's been acting up. But I've not heard the second 'click' that you hear when you use the remote.

So...does the key activate the deadlocks or just the first-stage locks?!?

Car is an '03 with the original Hamilton Palmer alarm.

Probably not then, if you don't hear that second click. I do know that you can't lock both doors from the passenger side.

 

Standard on most cars, IIRC.
