lumpy drive
Our 02 s2000 seems "lumpy" at low speeds I feel that the engine is not smooth or even hunting at low revs, is this the norm ? we have only done 3.5 k and not having driven any others wondered if this is experienced by others and if there is a cure, or is it just me (I drive an accord most of the week) the wifes gets to use the car for travelling to work and she hasn't complained, its mine for the weekensds though.
Low speed smoothness is not a S2000 strong point, the overrun fuel cut off is a little harsh and this combined with a light flywheel makes for jerky low speed progress.
Make sure you are using SUL. I found that Optimax reduced the activity of the Kangaroos in the tank.

Mine suffers the same problem, I've only done 650 miles in 19 days
,
and I was beginning to wonder as well. These type of questions
are what the forum is all about, thanks for putting my mind at rest guys.

Thanks for the rersponse, we are now using Optimax but have been caught out at times and had to put in 95 ron or walk, but seem to have mapped the SUL sellers in our area now, only using at wekends makes it stand out more, but at least I now know its a commen issue.
and I do agree these types of question / answers is a great use of the forum.

here here.
I used Optimax from day one, but could get it at the meet. I`ve noticed a diff this week from not using the Optimax. The speed it similar, but low rev running is not a clean.
It seems to me Optimax DOES make a diff.
