Safer than those suicide jockeys with regular seats but a 4/5/6pt harness. Nothing wrong with it IMO.

That would be the Spoon 4 point roll bar

Looks nice and fits well


Hardfog bars are great but for some reason when I bought mine I wanted to keep the rear panels, glove box, roll hops, soft/ hard top etc

Got a load of things done today, while I sat and watched TV (thanks Veysport )

Walbro 255 (ready to die) removed and put in the bin. OEM pump fitted (thanks Mr Pitts)
4.44 diff bedded in and oil changed for Motul PA90
Blocked washer jet unblocked
Yellow box calibrated on the dyno
And my ASM had developed a rattle... which was fixed using some old fashioned methods!

Very common on these for the 1st silencer to start rattling. Cut it open and found all the packing had broken down and the silencer tube had cracked.



Removed all the shit and re-welded the tube Bit more noise, which I wanted Gas flow wise it may have been better to remove the box and weld a band of stainless sheet around the perforated section, but it will be fine.



Only remaining jobs are to change the brake fluid for some fresh Motul, but leaving this until track time given it's hydroscopic nature. That and maybe some brake cooling, and need some A048s...

Oh, and the decision to strip and cage it is on my mind. Still feels wrong to potentially do this to a 30k miles 06 car!

Good stuff!

Over time i have seen some silencers when opened up/failed push the packing to one side, i heard you are good at pushing and packing

Have you managed to test out the final drive yet?, get your rev limit upped a couple of 100rpm's when you get your cam's and you'll almost negate the gears. Get romain to put a some limiter (harsh one) in at 9200rpm.

I've got some Motul to use up Si, but I will Castrol it next time

Kite, this car will never be SC - NAFTMFW!!!

Montag, I know what you mean. A long while back the S was my only car, and I remember struggling with a part of an SC install while working on the driveway at midnight, trying to get it fixed for work the next day I wouldn't do any of this if I didn't have other cars. I wouldn't be stripping it if I didn't have a truck and use of a trailer either!
