I think Steven's are the 'small' size I doubt you could even fit in them, you probably need the medium size buddy club seats........

When you read about the JDM market, Bride were always cited as the budget brand in Japan.

And 'bought by those who couldn't afford Recaro' was the last quote I read.

Just like any market, we imitate by buying 'JDM' although the reason for it's popularity at home isn't quality.
May i ask where you get this info from?

Reason i ask is because bride are often used in the top time attack cars, drift cars, demo cars and JGTC too. So with a lot of teams im sure a few hundred quid saving would make them choose a lesser quality product, if the reasoning was for price.

They aren't cheap either.

Or do you just mean that is how they started?

Could be that Bride are made in Japan and Recaro are made in Europe, imported stuff is usually far more expensive than the domestic stuff and just maybe there's the same snobbery there that exists here. Import is cooler, more expensive, less common and therefore more desirable.

I'd quite like some skinny Corbeau recliners in mine, nothing wrong with the standard seats except the rate they seem to wear at.

Standard ones do not hold you in well when you are cornering hard at 100 mph The door is what then holds you in place!

CG Lock is an option, but then an aftermarket seat is also a LOT lighter.

I've no doubt Recaro and Bride are better than BC, but you can go silly on spending. The best seats i've ever had were the Exige ones. Now that would be an interesting conversion. Evo ones are brilliant, but too big for the S.

I have a CG lock fitted in mine, got it for the previous car because the leather seats were like armchairs, comfortable but a little 'flat' for roundabouts.

It seems to work well on the S Could you not borrow one for a trackday and see if it works for you?

There is a Japanese arm of Recaro that is even more expensive than the offerings from Recaro in Europe

I have the Imola S in mine.

Low down seat position with good support.

Im 6'1 and quite slim and find them perfect for me, even long journeys

I think the weight of the CG Lock has made the seatbelt tensioner thingy (you know what I mean...) less effective over time (I had the CG lock on the seatbelt for a few months). Is it easy to restore the seatbelt tension back to its former glory?

Clearly this will not be an issue if you are sensible and only use the CG Lock for the track

Stock seats were fine with a 4 point harness.
