Metallic clattering from NS of car when going over bumps
Morning all,
First topic, atypically a cry for help as is often the case...!
I've noticed on my S that I have a clattering coming from the NS middle area of the car when going over bumps, it sounds like a heat shield or something like that. Quite a similar sound to the EP3's driveshaft heat shield which is what made me think of it.
Is this going to be what I think it is, or something else?
Cheers in advance.

If it's heatshield or cat is it a case of nipping something up or re-riveting? Or more likely drilling something out, swearing a bit and putting a new bolt in...

Heatshield is cheap tin, if it has rotted it may be worth removing it or drilling a new hole and clamping it if you can.
If its the cat internals .... new cat time and quicksmart before it snaps the tip of your o2 sensor

I'll get under the car this weekend and have a look. Previous owner was very good at preventative maintenance, so I'm hoping it's in a good state.
Cat internals thing is a bit worrying mind, presumably that's down to loose material inside the cat flying about?
Cheers for the pointers, appreciated.
