Mugen N1 ECU

So installing the Toda cams, Mugen FPR, uprated valve springs and retainers would work with the Mugen ecu? I always thought if I installed cams and an fpr I would need some piggyback or standalone like an AEM etc.

Installation of the Mugen FPR is not strictly necessary. I'm not using one. Coolchris fitted the FPR and later removed it; better fuel consumption and less popping and bangs with the standard FPR

Toda cams, springs and titanium retainers would probably cost you the best part of £1800. Installaton is a hell of a job and would probably cost you at least another £500 if you have to pay someone to do it.
With a Mugen ECU and increased fuel pressure you are looking at a 15bhp peak gain. With an AEM I think you can get over 20bhp gain.

At the minute along with the ecu and cooling mods I've also got I/H/E mods with a decat. I've noticed fuel economy is actually slightly better!
It doesn't bog down and feels a bit more responsive but the cams might just be a bit too expensive. For what I've installed and would have to add, it would just be cheaper to go the FI route.
As far as pops and bangs, I've a J's header a decat and Greddy TiC and the pops and bangs are incredible but not too much
