Default MY00 Engine Issues

a couple of months ago I was driving along the M3 when my oil pump had a catastrophic failure, this caused one of my main bearings to snatch and spin damaging my crankshaft and a conrod. the engine has only covered 75000miles and to say that the Honda were less than helpful is of course the norm.
So this leaves me with a lovely £2k parts bill and a nice Silverstone paperweight.
Will be posting the rebuild pics

Are you rebuilding or going for a replacement engine? Replacing is often the cheapest way!

What are the parts, out of interest? Presumably you can't get a crank regrind and oversized shells?

I think I'd be tempted to import an AP2 bottom end...

Without knowing the car's exact history (and whether it has ever been starved of oil) that comment isn't very useful.

thats the problem i dont know the full history of the car but did state it was an oil pump failure.
i did think of going for a replacement engine but there is no guarantees that is going to be any good, so i'm going for the rebuild to know its done properly.
also considered a regrind on the crank but the costs will be high as it will have to be micro-polished also Honda dont do shells by sizes...they do it by colours. as of yet i dont know anyone has measured them and assigned each colour a specific size
