Hmm not sure, did some searching and it seems it's maybe the same thing maybe just updated part numbers
By your description I think it's just normal gearbox/diff whine though, when I just had got my car I was also a bit concerned when first noticed that noise.
Get an after market exhaust and you wont notice it anymore

 

Its already got an invidia q300 system on it haha, hides it when im giving it some beans but hear it other times. Well its staying in now till it blows up cos im not messing about anymore. Well see what happens, if it doesnt get any louder im sure i can live wi it. Mike s2000 we need to go out in yours and compare.
