Default New car, few niggles

So yesterday picked up my 2004, Silverstone, 44k, fhsh, s2000. Really happy with it, spent the day getting to know it via a wash n wax.
Couple of niggles, arial is kinked in the middle - oem is £50 on eBay, are there any other options out there people have used?
Also, despite a service from Honda 3days ago, looks to me like it needs a new air filter. Don’t fancy an intake, is it worth going k&n in the original air box? Or again just a oem off eBay?

thanks in advance

Hello and welcome.

The air filter is not changed at every service, in fact only at every 3rd service - see the Technical FAQ (stickied in this forum) for the full service schedule. https://www.s2ki.com/forums/uk-irela...6/#post5798519

An OEM filter is perfectly fine, as is an aerial from Ebay.

I take my air filter out and give it a vac using a soft brush once a year, just for a laugh have a look at the pollen filter, hardly anyone checks it. As for the cost of the areal, that's nothing, what you have to bear in mind is although your new pride and joy may be fourteen years old the spares are not, have a look on Lings Hondas web site at the coat of some of the bits and bobs, but please sit down first!
Once you are a paid up member you can get a discount from Hendy's for most stuff.

Thanks, didn’t realise a filter was expected to do upto 30k, I’ll try just giving it a quick hover in that case.
Terms of the aerial there are some very similar looking Honda ones which are much cheaper, like the below civic mast;

I have Scottish blood, so if I can save £20 I will

Congratulations!

Ditch the twig for a short DAB-type and put in a decent head unit.

You can unscrew the existing mast & swap it for a second hand one that's less kinky. You don't need to change the electronics in the base, just because it's wonky.

Welcome. I've got an aerial from my 2002 you can have, assuming I can find it.
