Is this normal
Recently I put a new bearing on the idle tensioner pulley and put a new serpentine belt on, non oem, £16 from ecp.Now this could be a bout of Ocd, but when I'm Iin neutral idling, I can hear a faint and I mean faint whirring noise, I have to turn the radio of and lean my ear down to the transmission tunnel to hear it, it's non metalic and very
slight, it may well have always been there I just don't know, I'm guessing Iit's the trannie spinning.I know the clutch release bearing packing in has these symptoms but I've
listened to examples of this on the interweb and my noise is nowhere near as severe, when I press the clutch in the noise goes away and when I release the clutch it'sback again, is it normal to have a small degree of noise from the transmission while in neutral, or is there something more sinister at work.Im changing out the gearbox oil with honda Mtf next week, as I've covered 20000 miles since I last changed it. I've no Iissues in normal driving, clutch seems fine and gears working as normal.
