when u have pads fitted the car is raod tested briefly to bed them in a bit so there not totally crap. most if not all companies do it.

but the passenger was there for what reason? If a mechanic goes out that is ok when there is two of them it means trouble.

well i followed them onto some open b roads and they were driving within the limits so don't think it was anything to worry about after all.
