Default Help - S2 Engine's number one piston is burning oil

Hi There

Sadly my Honda S2000 engine has developed a fault - quick diagnosis showed that number one piston is burning oil.
Engine is running erratically with white exhaust fumes.
I have been told by a local mechanic that it is a serious problem but the extent of the engine damage won't be known until the cylinder head is removed.
The S2 is turbocharged with loads of modifications and mapped to 350bhp

Has anyone else had a similar problem? How was it sorted?
I don't know any reputable specialists (I'm in Coventry, West Midlands) that can do a detailed diagnosis.
I also don't know any specialist who can supply a second hand engine (from a scrapped S2), supply a reconditioned engine or rebuild my engine (should the block be OK).
I would be willing to get the diagnosis and repairs done outside Coventry or West Midlands.

Any information about what's wrong with my S2 and companies that can help to get it back on the road will be greatly appreciated.

Like other S2 owners, my S2 has given much driving pleasure and it would be heart-breaking to just scrap it (cut my losses).

Look forward to support from S2 colleagues on the forum so I can get the S2 fully functioning.

Chaman

Your mechanic is probably spot on. You've probably got an issue with the piston or the ringlands. Not an easy fix and the sort of job where it would require a full rebuild to make it worth while.

I mean it could be something else but with it being turbocharged its most likely suffered from the additional stress and heat.

Sorry hear of your engine woe's

I would highly recommend Rich @ Performance Autoworks. Been using him for over 10 years.
Not too far away from you. Expert in all things Honda.

He's great with emails so you can describe what is going on in detail and he can advise on what he can do.
Probably you would need to trailer the car to him though? Would it be driveable?

Engines are like rocking horse shit cos everyone is using them in kit cars and old excrotes
but if you can find one, I would just swap it out.. Daytona did my SC car when it had shat itself
Bits of that engine went in LGs old car
