Default POLYBUSH

We have a customers car in for supercharging, which went nicely to plan and I am sure he will be pleased with the power. But he also asked for a full set of Polybushes to be supplied and fitted. This was a total bitch as everything was seized solid. With care it took 2 days to cut and lever all the originals out. I thought I would point out a problem we have had with these bushes and see if anyone else has spotted the same. The upper rear wishbone bushes allow fore and aft float by around 6mm. The gap is between the edge of the arm and the bigger diameter of the bush, it looks worse one size than the other. This can't be right. I spoke with Polybush and they say my car must me different. The sent me some more material so I can remake them right but are not prepared to change what they have as they think my car is just an odd one. I think they are wrong. Your thoughts.[attachment=35267SC07139.JPG][attachment=35266SC07140.JPG]

The rear upper wishbones changed sometime around 2004.

Powerflex list different part numbers on their bushes for pre and post 2004 cars.

Polybush is a different company to Powerflex.

This isn't the first time that has been seen although i can't remember the name of the person that had the issue the last time - must have been about 8 months or so ago.

They need to read their own website - they offer 2 different sets, one for 99-03 and one for 04 onwards: http://www.polybush.co.uk/shop/481_Honda

Rear upper arms bushes are 41A for 99-03 and 41E for 04 onwards

I had this exact problem. Polybush sent someone ut to measure my car up so they are aware of it. They modified a bush and put a metal shim on the outside to space it properly for me. I think it was someone called tom who I dealt with. My car is a uk my01. If that helps. Posted a thread with pics sometime around march last year on this

That's the thread I had at the time. Tom boddington was the person I dealt with at polybush so hopefully he could help.

evidently I had the right part numbers for the year but it definately needs addressing. How many people put the parts on not knowing the fit is crap. Hopefully not many as its a proper ball ache to fit when things are seized up.

It's really easy to knock out the poly bushes and replace them with the correct ones.

The subframes are also different on later models so maybe the car has had a different subframe. How was the oem bush fitting?

Oh and I still haven't received the updated alternator bracket for the supercharger kit, thanks for the bolt though!
