Just a couple of observations :-

1) The poly bush drawing is wrong , the bushes are top hat types not cotton reels.

2) It seems to me if you turned the bushes around they would fit !, and the fore/aft movement would be against the inner part of the housing and not the outer, cant see any differance in this. If fact for my 01 car I did a quick trial fit on one of my upper arms and put the bushes in base over apex and they looked like yours in reverse.

3) I presume the crush tube was the correct length, and was a snug fit in the housing and the housing was not distorted as the bolt was tightened

Is it a late model car? I had the same with mine, I made some stainless shims which I think were 3mm but once the car settled I still ended up with float, which caused the car to steer from the rear.polyush do know about this because I sent loads of pics to them and I sent some to yorky I think.

I would be dubious about sending the car out like that, mine was scary and dangerous at times

These are the rear uppers aswell.

Yep, was me. Difference between what Glen has done and polybush did was polybush machined some of the bush itself off and then the shim went on the outside. Basically it makes the thicker part of the bush wider. I'll take a pic tomorrow. Its worked but no idea why this issue should happen randomly on some cars.
