Default interior light has a glitch

on the middle setting(so it comes on when you open the door) it has decided that it wont come on unless i apply slight pressure to the switch, sometimes it stays on when i let off, sometimes it shut off. If i switch it all the way to the right so the light stays on when the door is closed,.....it works fine. Is this a connection issue with the bulb???? any help is appreciated.

Interested...mine has a mind of it own too. With the right wiggle or just a press it will work

Sounds like the switch contact plates may be dirty or a bit worn. A piece of fine sand paper on the contacts should do the trick. Not much to it, its a simple mechanism.

The samething happened to my dome light. Just open the assembly and make sure everything is tight and secure. Then you're good to go!

Mine does the same thing. I'll take it apart this week sometime and hopefully fix it.

just took it apart, if you are gonna do this be careful because there is 2 tiny springs and 2 bb sized bearings for the switch that you can lose easily. there was a bit of green corosion on the contact plates that i cleaned off. and put it back together and plugged it in. Now NOTHING worked!!!! so i took it apart again, double checked,.......still nothing!!! so i said F it and put it all back together and when i was screwing the whole plate back into the frame the lights came on,....hmmmm

Yeah popping it open should show a little dirt or goo covering the contacts That's what happened to mine. Wiped it with a rag and put back together and works great.
