Default Problem with Window/Hood

Has anyone else had this prob before ??

Sometimes on the rare occations that the roof is up on the car the window wont shut on the drivers side .The window must have some type of sensor on the motor that tells it to wind back down if it hits resistance ,so looking at it closeing its fine till it comes up to the hoods rubber seals ,once it comes into contact with the afor mention'd rubber down it goes again

So ok we can close the window if we open the door but not perfect , any tips from anyone whose had this happen to them before we take it to the dealers

I think you need to reset the window regulator. I think it is in the manual (mines in the car so I can't check) you have to press the window switch down and the window drop hold the switch for a few seconds and then lift button to raise window or something like that (I am sorry if this is the wrong procedure but this resetting excercise might sought your problem.

Not heard of this before. Sounds like a dodgy sensor to me. Not sure if the S has the safety ones to stop you getting stuck in the closing window. But as they do go down when you lower the hood, so maybe the fault is somewhere in that part of the system?

Are you sure thats not to do with re-setting the 'one touch' close action? I had that on mine after they had done some engine out work. You have to raise it fully and lower it fully holding the button.. The one touch thingy will then work.

Don't think it sounds like the same thing though
