Hi all
I noticed that I've had a small oil leak for the back of the car which I expected to be the diff, however it turns out tonight that's it's actually seeping from the joint at the end of the prop shaft where it meets the diff joint.

I've only got access on my phone at the moment so searches are limited but is it possible to rebuild the joint or is better to source a used shaft?

The prop joint is filled with grease so if it leaked it would look and feel like grease,
I have seen diff oil leach up the splines on the flange and leak out where the prop secures to the flange so it could be worth checking

 

Thanks, I jacked it up onto axel stands tonight after posting and gave the prop a wiggle and a decent trickle of oil came out, the grease has spun out over the underside of the car.

i will make my return journey got the geo at some point soon Ray, just been busy at work last few weeks. I'll make some calls in the morning as I stink of diff oil
