Default Put Your s2konroids

After missing my opportunity to have AJ map my car last month he has kindly agreed to offer his services to put some more squirt in your S!

I have a VAFC2 that needs doing but I know he also has experience with GEMU's and AEM's as well. He has said if I can gauge enough interest then he could travel down from ooop north to do it. At the moment I have no idea of costs as a rolling road would need booking as well as us covering the cost of a travelodge and some money for his services.

If you are interested in this we are potentially looking at some time in August so please let us know.

Thanks,

Alex

What sort of cash do you reckon we'd be talking? Is there much that can be done with the stock ECU and a few bolt-ons?

Thanks Alex.

Regarding the costs no need to pay for my accommodation all you guys pay is for the mapping, but i would like to gauge if people want their cars mapped in advance so i can book a cheap travelodge room the £19/29 jobbies .

I will most likely use Surrey road road and book it for near enough a full day depending how many people are interested, last time i did this i did it in Lancaster for roughly half a day but most people seem to be down south. I can also do one up north too in Lancaster. The costs I am already aware of.

I like to sort out the basemap (depending on ECU) prior to tuning, that way we minimise any nasty surprises and wasted time/money when it comes to tuning - I do this remotely.

I generally PM everyone as group anyway so feel free to send me a PM, regarding modifications generally the more the better, if you want to be cost effective then I recommend a good decat, manifold and exhaust.

It boils down to in terms of what you can achieve...

Piggyback = use your stock ECU and piggyback onto it.
Standalone = remove stock ECU, complete replacement.

1. VAFC2's/neo's - piggyback modest gains, IMO good bang per buck but has it limitations.
2. Greddy emanage ultimate - piggyback but more advanced than the above resulting in a little more power and smoother.
3. Standalone - complete replacement ECU, can do what you want and the best solution for wringing every last bhp out of the car

IMO there are not massive jumps in power between them but there are other factors from just power alone.

Here is the thread to the previous day i did you can see what some of the car made with basic bolt on's on a very hot day : https://www.s2ki.com/s2000/topic/955...-on-apexi-neo/

It will be be after the 15th of August.

Cheers

I'll be in for this. I want to give my flashpro another chance and will probably be getting a PLM header. August would be good for me.

Good to see this is taking off Aj.

Have you done many AEM now / been on the AEM course? It's a fiddly system...

sorry for the thread hi-jack

What are peoples opinion about the Emerald ECU compared to the AEM V2? There is quite a big price difference but I know it's not the "mainstream" ECU that people buy.
