If I can make a serious point though I feel many wealthy, middle aged men fall into the trap of buying very high performance cars and suddenly forgetting that most cars are nothing like that powerful, expensive, able, etc.
The man talks sense.

I play a lot of poker. The 10th best poker player in the world is a losing player when he sites with the 9 players that are better than him. When he plays any of the other poker players in the world he makes millions of $$$. Think about it

ps what happened to the professional poker playing?
I agree with SB, The S will thrash most things I come across on the road every day. I drive the f*cking thing every day, I know its power is only above average at best, but compared to what I come up against every day it's a supercar.
I get frustrated every day because I have long since gotten used to its max power and I want more. I think about getting a faster car every day, something like a TVR T350 or a 911 which really is not going to be beaten by anything this side of

There's a lot of pleasure to be gained from reminding other drivers too

Going pro is still the dream but I'm not a big risk taker so I'm trying to build the bankroll for it part-time. At the moment I'm getting up at 6:30 playing poker for 1.5 hours going to work, coming home and then usually play 3-4 hours most nights. I can't play at the weekends as my long-distance girlfriend is down. It's a pretty dull existance at the moment but if I can build a large (i.e. safe) bankroll then I can move full-time hopefully within the year. By booking so many hours I also get to categorically establish my true win rate which is vital in making any long term earning projections. Theoretically at the level and win rate I play just now I could play 7 hours a day 5 days a week and make more than my job but I'm not one for taking big leaps of faith so I'll bide my time

You should know that if it pays out Saxo Boy can see an M5 in the car port so you might have to sell up

but generally speaking an S2000 can walk down the street and square his goes with most other cars.
- Bit like the TT Supras that are sat, unsold at 7k.Like I said, one droid trying to impress another.
[QUOTE=cheshire_carper,Feb 18 2006, 02:53 PM] ....You mustn't forget; it can now be bought for 10k

I think the S can embarrass some far more expensive machinery but it tends to be down to the driver.
I've had many examples where I've blitzed an Merc SL AMG when there's been a few twisties chucked in and that's a very fast car. Funniest one was a Lexus SC430 that went off on a roundabout at 90 degress trying to keep up.
When I was out with the Porsche guys at the weekend, yes, they'd pull away fine on the straights, as soon as it got tight and twisty the Honda started to pull back and was on their tail quite happily - so in everyday road driving there is a lot less of an advantage - I'm sure on a track it would be a bit different but still mainly down to the driver.

I always say this in "this vs that" debates, and someone alluded to it earlier, but you need a serious amount more power / torque / power to weight to really punish someone...
2 times in my life have I been jaw droppingy punished, once by an SL55 AMG merc in my scoob, and by a GT3 in the S... double power figures help a long way!
That said, the S neve fails to surprise me in the racing stakes. Ive taken on a few things and expected a whipping, but managed to keep up. Friend of mine has a 320 ish bhp EVO MR and I plan to video that encounter. He thinks mine will keep up!
