Default Race Engine Design (RED)

Hello all,
I am currently building a Lotus-7 replica with a S2000 drivetrain. I am in the market for a dry sump system and am very impressed with RED's. http://raceenginedesign.biz/honda.htm

The only hangup is he doesn't accept credit cards and I am a little wary of wiring 1200GBP. Has anyone done business with him before or know anything about the company?

Thanks,
-Zach

I went down there about 2 months ago and saw their workshop and had a chat.

They are trustworthy guys by all accounts. Mike was working on a few S2000 engines (they had about 4 in). I was shown the process i.e fill water jacket/boring out, dry sump, custom clutch/ecu etc. and also had a beautiful Hart lump which was being collected later that day.

If I was interested in NA S gains I would definitely be giving them a call.

You have to post details of it, it's the law

I've heard them mentioned to me before and I understand they are decent chaps. I've no specific example to quote though.

I don't get it, were does the driver sit?

Good luck with it, there's a couple of chaps on here building similar cars. I can't quite comprehend how quick they're going to be, I'm making do with a weedy rover engine in mine.

There's four F20C engined projects in various states on the Dax Rush Owner's Club. Mine's the least well advanced, having just managed to fit the floor so far.

One of the guys is RED dry-sumped - he's running a chassis variant with less ground clearance. I'm hoping to get away without it, based on the experience of the others. He and another guy are also running the RED-supplied throttle body kit, too.

Excellent airbags. And the glove box is simply cavernous!
