raced a Renault Laguna and nearly got beat
was in the right hand lane of a 2 lane DC that merges into 1 in about 1/4 mile.
Renault Laguna behind me.
Light turns green I set off and this laguna is on my arse
I move over to the LH lane, drop it into second and floor it
Laguna just didn't quite have the legs to pass me, but was close
He then sat on my arse for the next two miles, until he got the chance to undertake and show his superiority -only to brake hard because he hadn't realised the traffic had stopped in front of him.
p.s was in the Focus

I've had close runs with Mondeos, etc before!
They've got the advantage because:
1. It's a company car, so it doesn't matter.
2. If a Mondeo's as good as it gets, it doesn't matter if they die trying.
I tend therefore to let them go.

a Chipped 2.2 diesel would be the quicker car when on the move.....over the 3 litre petrol...

I gave a TT (spit ) a run for it's money once....in the omega I assume it was the 180bhp version although I'm sure after a fair few pints, it'll turn into the 3.2 v6 version
