If you organise it, he will come.

I need my geo re-doing. And I'm in Leeds.

I reckoned measuring them the fronts (205) were 195, and the rears (225) were 240. I compared that to the 195 Bridgestone tyres on my Primera which really were 195, so I think I was measuring correctly.

I've still got an old S02JZ in my garage, and I measured that to be only slightly smaller than the ES02JZ. So I think they pulled the same trick with the Porsche one, just not as much.

So changing to a genuine 205/225 is going to give you more front end grip and less rear. I now have 205/245, which I feared might make it more understeery but has done the opposite.
IIRC, I did measure them before & they did come up larger than I'm now getting. I seem to remember that the edges of the tread are very 'square' when new, which gave a much larger tread section/contact area.

So it's possible they've worn down to 225.

Who cares what the tread looks like?

Anyway wider tyres simple change the shape of the contact patch. Wider doesnt mean more grip

All he needs is a reasonably level tarmacced area about the size of a tennis pitch. If you give him a call, he'll be able to specify it a bit more accurately.

I have REO50A 's on the front and find them very good. Still have some half worn SO2's on the back and they seem to be very slidey.

Good turn in, and the nose hooks onto the apex but the rear doesn't seem to track round as well. All I can put this down to is the front's gripping harder rather than ploughing on.

Just my 2p worth.

RE050A's reviewed in this month's evo along with various other tyres.

Interesting comment from Bridgestone though. Specific versions for specific cars are often very different from the 'standard' version and wet weather grip is much lower down the manufacturers list of priorities than the tyre manufacturer's list.

Which would explain the S2000 specific S02's.
