What you need to say is, I was doing 5 MPH and then I accelerated like a demon fecker upto 20mph in 1 milisecond. Now you could say you lost the backend.

I guarantee doing 20 mph and accel-ing gradually will NOT loose the backend. Its not the speed, its the rate you attain that speed. The speed is totally irrel.

(Anyhow, its sad to see you`re not getting another S, I think you should coz they`re fab!).

Maybe if you want to go really fast in the wet you should get a different car. I just go slow when it's wet (and not much quicker when it's dry ).

I hear what your saying Chesh mate but this is how it happened..

Go round the bend and accelerate slightly and the back slipped, I was not scared due to speed or anything just shocked and caught totally unaware as I was going so slow and was being very very delicate with the right foot. I think I need to compare MY S to others as I'm sure others can't be this bad. I also checked the service print out I have and it shows 2 X new fronts but only 1 X rear Bridgestone, fronts done 9/03 and rear 10/03 so maybe this is the problem? The tread on both rears looks good (same as each other) but only 3 have been changed, could this be the problem?

Are they the right tyre? Check the faq. If you're running S02s they must be ES02JZ

Any other S02 is wrong and at should be 245 on the rear instead of the 225 on the ES02JZ

I'll check em over in the light and see what they say. I'm sure a 'decent' S would behave a lot better!

As I mentioned in another thread recently, I test drove about 10 over a year after I (like you) sent my first one back for a full refund. Some of them were absolute dogs, some of them fantastic.

Now I've got mine with revised geometry and F1s I'm reasonably happy to drive it in the wet. I'd rather not drive it if poss when the weather's crap, but I'm not scared that it will throw me off the road if I'm careful

Best asessment of the problem I have read on here yet.......
RWD + 240bhp + No TC = traction compromised in the wet

Lets face it, this is not a wet weather car, buy an Impreza or the like if nailing it in the wet is your thing........

I disagree with the lot of you.. i think this car is great fun in the wet you can bring the back out at lowish speed and enjoy controlling the skid without endangering the car or yourself or for that matter the tyres... then poodle off and behave yourself for the rest of the journey.... all this without having to control the

I seriously considered an MCB under 1 yr old at the time, serviced at about 10,300 miles. Phoned Honda UK to see if they would still honour warranty and they said no.

(Also phoned Huk at a similar time to ask how much a hardtop would cost and they said
