Have you driven a turbo lately Ron?

That is quite a traditional view, but technology has really moved on. If you get the blower size right then lag isn't an issue.
We on about the same things?

I'm on about lag, not spool rpm.

My Diesel beater has a pi55y small turbo and I can feel the lag in that.

Obviously, this isn't an Evo 8, but i'd imagine the turbo to be a bit bigger

Yes, i'm on about lag. Evo has virtually none in my view.

Diesels are a different kettle of fish.

In my eyes if I had a turbo car i'd want it to be laggy and aggressive as they come.

Whats the point in having a smooth turbo car? Isn't that the whole idea behind it to have nothing....nothing....whoosh?

You're thinking spool rpm, not lag.

Lag is the delay when your within your spool rpm range to the boost coming back on.

The last thing you want is lag!
