Default Reverse klunk

I've had an imported S2000 since April and am over the moon with it.
However, a loud klunking noise can be heard when applying the brakes in reverse.
Is this just the pads shifting in the calipers due to the direction change? or something more serious.
Any advice received with thanks....

Mike your not on your own mate alot of people have or had that problem I currently have it and it is said to be one of three things
A, (most common) loose rear brake pad's

B, Axle nuts need titening up

C, C.V. joints are fu@k'd

Take it to Honda and have them check it out

Andy,
have you considered your wallet? Maybe it`s in your boot and clunking under the sheer weight.

Nice one Andy.

Will quiz Honda on the subject when I take it in for the recall work.

Mike.

Ps. Its definitely not my wallet....

If only mate, if it was my wallet I would have my charger on my car by now but no such luck

Andy.

For your info....

I have just spoken to the aftersales manager (also a friend) at my local Honda dealer. You were right, it is the rear pads shifting in the calipers that makes the klunk.
He promises me that it in no way will this damage the car.

The pads can be packed with grease to dull the noise but this is only a temporary fix.
Apparently, dare I say it, the Civic suffers the same problem!

Mike.
