You could argue the same thing when houses were built post/pre a certain date and thrown into bandings. Ours is band E, some on our road D with the same square footage. Newer houses got a kicking.

When I got another S2000 last year I specifically looked for a post 2006 because they are allowed in to the low emission zone in Aberdeen while pre 2006 aren’t. It’s the same rules as the London ULEZ except it’s not a daily fee, it’s a ban and you get a fine if you enter it.
Just posting for info, but given that I already knew my 53 plate 2003 S2000 was OK for London ULEZ, I just put the reg into the Scotland ULEZ checker page, and it is also allowed.
idgaf.. I went in the London one when I flogged my M3, they charged me. It's a mistake to drive there and I'm coming to the same conclusion about visiting.

Yeah I know the checkers show that now but I’m not 100% convinced.
When I was buying last year there wasn’t a reg checker for the Scottish LEZs, it just gave the rules which for petrol cars is Euro 4 onwards. Pre 2006 S2000s are Euro 3. So going with the info I had it had to be a post 2006.
Turns out I might have been able to go for an earlier one and save a bit on tax but I’ve had a ‘52 plate one before so happy to have a later one and I’m happy with the car which is the main thing. Tax is a side issue. I also wouldn’t be surprised if the checker is wrong cause it clearly contradicts the rules and I couldn’t be arsed with having to argue the toss over that.
