Default Rules for registering modifed S2000 in UK

I'm currently residing on the other side of the world, but recent events might mean an earlier than planned return to blighty. My S has been turbocharged and I'm planning to ship it over when I go back. Does anyone know if I would run into any issues when it comes to getting it registered?

Yes, the car will have to conform to the guidelines as set out in the SVA as far as I know, ie totally standard. I am sure a few people on here will be along shortly to advise further.

Might be easier and cheaper to pick up a standard one and replicate what you have done.

From what I gather, you'd be better off shipping out your mods, and then getting a stock car here.

You will be allowed to drive it for 6-12 months (depends on the agreement with the country in question) before you have to register it, after that it will need a full SVA test which it won't pass with a turbo.

Seems to be a bit unpredictable with SVAs.

I imported my modified Impreza from the states and it passed the SVA without any problems - well I changed the headlights and had to have a rear fog light (why???)... I had removed 3 cats from the car and replaced them with straight pipes and a high flow cat (plus a relatively loud exhaust).

Andy's hassle is because it is an 04 car and the report is based on 99-02 cars.
This one is an 00 but all the mods may well cause a problem getting it through an SVA

I'd part it out and put it on a UK/JDM car when you get here!

According to the DVLA website, if the car is over ten years old it does not need to be SVA tested. Mine is a 2000 model, so four more years and I'll be able to bring it over with just an MOT. lol.. From what I've read about this procedure it will be worth the wait.
