Default Running Red lights

Has anyone else noticed that there seems to be more and more people running reds? I have done it on occasion, usually due to going to fast! But I am making a real effort to try and stop on ambers, and not flooring it!

Over the past few years there seems to be loads of people charging through solid reds. What does plod do.... fcuk all. To increase road saftey I would be 100% behind every traffic light system being installed with camera system. Maybe this should be where speed camera revenue is used and not on installing new speed camera revenue generators.

It is becoming a *very* serious problem in London.

This morning I watched a 911 jump a red light and turn left directly in front of a plod car - did they bother to do anything, did they f*ck.

I'm all for red light cameras.....the danger from someone jumping a red is far greater than someone exceeding 70mph motorway limit

A common site on the A4 - I always see nuttahs speed thorugh reds as normal but then they get snapped by the camera .

I always slow down when approaching a light or junction.

Me too. And nowadays I'll typically wait until it is fully green my side before setting off.

A404/M40 junction - worst place for running reds, people just ignore the lights some days it seems

I thought the cameras were supposed to sort that one! Not so long ago everyone was standing on their brakes at an amber light.

Are idiots becoming more complacent, or are more driving unregistered cars?

Perhaps it is a case for more light cameras instead of speed cameras, or does that not raise enough revenue?

your dead right moff, it's getting worse

Zero, you've made a good point. I think that insurers will catch on to this in the future, possibly putting people who have been caught on camera jumping a light as higher risk cases (and obviously the ones who have caused accidents at lights). This is because you can definately say that the cause of an accident when at traffic lights was down to jumping lights, whereas in other accidents the cause maybe more indistinguishable IMO
