Thought I would give a quick update.

Bonnet sensor replaced (this was broken). Still kept going off, the garage has now swapped the main alarm box.

strange thing BMW alarms. they seem sensitive to these things. I get taxis from my house for work pretty regularly, and the taxi company has one of these "call back" features (the cabbie presses a button on their console, and it calls your phone to let you know that the taxi is outside). It never fails to set off the alarm on my neighbours BMW 520 (debadged, but has alpina stuff stuck all over it. - hes fooling no-one). The taxi driver explained that this happens once, and showed me by setting the BMW's alarm off, waiting till the neighbour came out and bemused reset it, then letting him go back inside his house .... then we set it off again!.
We did this three times before we decided he'd had enough PMSL

we had the same thing we a wireless door bell. Turned out someone in the street behind had the same bell and when someone rang their doorbell ours went off and vice versa. Drove us nuts thinking that someone was playing knock and run at all times of the day and night.
