well i have a MY00 import with 87k with CTSC full aem engine management etc, brembo bbk, tasty prodrive wheels, retro fit glass roof and the like and I think that in current climate that i would get about 8.5k but i guess it would be to a very select market. Is that a realistic price itself?

I'd like to sell it as circumstances have changed vastly since last year, both the wife and i working for two seperate hedge funds have been made redundant so income which was high is now non existent and if i could get 8.5k it would go in a flash.
I want to see that glass roof please

yeah, upsetting i had to let it go so cheap, but they have plummeted in value recently. i could have put it up for 5k, but i would have had people haggling with me, so i just stuck it up at 4.5k and said that was the least i would accept. on the plus side it sold very very quickly.

if i could have kept it i would have. it was perfect for a daily runner to go alongside an S2K. it returned 43mpg over a tank on average, and that was mostly town driving and me thrashing it. it was remapped with a larger turbo intake pipe, and an aftermarket panel filter, and it had some serious go for a diesel. sometimes i miss that low down power when i just want to get home quickly and with no dramas.

Yeah thats exactly why i wanted one.

TBH i liked the front, the performance etc, but the inside and wheels was dreadful.

the plastics are dire as far as feel goes, but mine had no rattles and was screwed together very well, and everything worked as it should do. the seats are very comfy and very supportive, they are quite deep and the bolsters come up quite high, i really can't fault the seats other than the fact they are white and the material gets damaged very easily.

you can easily put up with the downsides when you consider the overall package. the newer mk2 fabias have much better interiors, but sadly no vRS model available.

End of the summer and christmas time is such a bad time to sell but i genuinely think prices will be stronger in March/April time. I always think some prices can be misleading, depending on how desperate someone is to sell. Like the 55 plate that was advertised for
