Default Seibon Carbon Fibre Cooling Plate

I have bought a Seibon CF cooling plate but I have some problems fitting it on the car. The holes do not exactly match but I will solve that. A bigger problem is that I'm not able to close the bonnet. Can this cooling plate be used in combination with a K&N FIPK air intake?

Crap... I'm not cutting the bonnet. The Seibon UK description doesn't say anything about cutting so if that's the case they are getting it back. :-)

Hi, have you removed the metal strip underneath the 5 screws on top of the bumper? This should give you enough clearance. I have a similar plate (eBay knockoff!) and an FIPK and mine fits perfectly. It touches the top of the bonnet very slightly but I placed a couple of felt strips on the bonnet so it doesn't scuff the plate too badly. There is also the option of adjusting the bonnet catch to provide additional clearance, although I haven't had to do this. You certainly shouldn't have to cut the bonnet.

Hope this helps.

Good luck.

Hi, I have removed the metal strip and re-used the rubber. I'm going to adjust the bonnet catch tomorrow, I hope that will solve the problem. Several people have told me that this combo should fit without any problem so why it doesn't on my '05 is a mystery. :-)
