From memory, I think it has been agreed that sparks DO need doing at 54k and not the 72k that most dealers seem to think.

If the sheet says do it, it gets done and plugs are changed at 54000 miles - they are expensive plugs so the difference in price makes the additional

I'm with hyb, bought my own plugs and oil and air filter, and made a substantial saving. I asked Honda to check about the plugs abd they confirmed that they should be changed after initially not including these in the service spec. This has been going on for a long time now, and as there is no doubt that the plugs should be changed, it's a pity the HUK have not communicated this fact.

Gave my dealer the new service sheet since they were running with the old one still - Great service from those guys so I will forgive them for that.

Got my 56 coming up next year. Will supply oil as always and will also supply sparks. Got my spoon filter so that stays put.

Shouldnt work out too expensive I hope.

Always a laugh seeing what loaner I get, I really look forward to service time - sad isnt it.. Last time I got the new MX5, this time round I will ask for the RX8 I think, see what that is like

My plugs weren't changed at 54K because the dealer thought they should be changed at 63K. I went to a different dealer for the 63K service, and they didn't change them either as they thought they would have been done at 54K.

I did ask them on the day, but they didn't have any in stock.
