Sloshing sound from rear after rain?
Doubt its the fuel-tank, then again? There's no dampness behind the seats or anywhere else that would suggest rainwater is collecting, your thoughts please?

Soft top drains either blocked or come adrift. Check for water under the seats, you'll need to lift the carpet to really check as it runs under that and soaks into the sound deadening.
First off is to check that the rear soft top drains are actually draining as they should.

You do have to remove all carpet in the boot area also to check..
condensation in rear is a sign of water
Condensation is the change of the physical state of matter from gas phase into liquid phase, and is the reverse of vapourisation. The word most often refers to the water cycle. It can also be defined as the change in the state of water vapour to liquid water when in contact with a liquid or solid surface or cloud condensation nuclei within the atmosphere. When the transition happens from the gaseous phase into the solid phase directly, the change is called deposition.
In other words put it in the sun and check boot underside for moisture.

Sills could be full of water also
or doors if drains are blocked

I'd say water in sills. Seems water gets in there if the soft top drains are blocked. I find the easiest way of clearing them is to use a jetwash in the front of the wheel arch. There is a piece of metal that divides the wheel arch about 3" in. The soft top drains are behind there. Crud and mud from the road builds up over time and blocks the drain outlet.

Righto, all sorted! for anyone else this is what I did.....ignore between the black brushes, you're looking down inside the outside of each of them, you'll see a black plastic catchment area recessed almost so you cant unless pushing the brush part away slightly, the drain hole for each is directly at the front (towards the door) I used a plastic tube to get down the holes then poured hot water into each catchment, within seconds it drained from below out of the rear wheel arch, the hot water made the tube soft enough to come out the bottom too, now clean as a whistle ;-)

For anyone else reading this, important that you go down from the top and not up from the bottom. If you go the wrong way, you can dislodge the upper drain from the hole and then when it rains you fill the car up instead.
