Loosing the airbag is a big con but other than that I only see advantages.
Having the wheel at correct distance is a big improvement in driving ergonomics, now you don't need quick release for that but you might as well get one.
My steering lock is still there and I even if it didn't I would like to see how you would drive it with just mole grips

Happy with that. See, you have a genuine need in terms of getting the correct "reach" on the wheel.
As for mole grips, I've driven someone else's Land Rover home after he had an epic fail by using mole grips. I wouldn't reccommend it, but it got us out of trouble.

A quick release wheel is great for security... how can you steel a car with no steering wheel... be sensible its not easy! the reach is personalised, the grip is personalised, and personally I feel more secure about leaving the car.
Air bag yes, its gone, but with an improved grip, reach and feel lets say it adds to not crashing in the first place.
