Default Spare keys, fobs + boot unlocking prob

Hi, I have done a search but not found anything:

Anyone know if you can get spare honda fobs / keys etc. I only have one set.

Also, as of yesterday, the remote boot unlock has stopped working ( as has the internal boot release in the glove box ). Is this likely to be a fuse?

Ta!

I don't know about fuses - have you checked the manual ? (I always thought the glovebox button was cable operated)

Re the key - why didn't you get 2 from the previous owner ? - that would make me very suspicious.

I have been told by the dealer that if I want another key cut, I have to be in possession of the original Honda key (as well as the Honda UK CAT 1 fob key) - I guess it's to do with immobilisers and serial numbers.

The internal boot release in the glovebox I dont think is electrical, so It may be the boot catch itself or someting.

You can get a new keyfob, they just need reprogramming to the car, this can be done, Crown did it in front of me

The internal boot release is definitely electrical. If you look at he wiring diagram you will see that the boot solenoid is operated electrically from the glove box switch. If it is the remote boot release AND the internal boot release not operating the boot release, then it must be the solenoid or the wiring to the solenoid.

I can tell you how to diagnose this problem, but I need to be sure that you know about electrics/car electrics/electronics, because you could do more damage if you are not sure on what you are doing.
If you have no idea about electrics then play safe and take it to your dealer or a car electric specialist. It shouldn't cost you too much to get fixed.

PM me if you want any more info and you feel happy with diagnosing it yourself.

Thanks Andy - will dust off my Fluke and have a look in daylight - bet it's just a connector.

Cheers - Alex
