Spark plugs, when to change?
Car has its 4 year service soon so I thought I'd get Honda to put new plugs in as they've done 27k miles now but the service book says they don't need changing till 7 years, this seems a bit long to me, anyone think it's ok to leave them in for this long?

7 yrs or 54k miles, i don't see why its a time based replacement as its not like a cambelt when rubber ages with time.
However saying that for the sake of £30 or so i'd change them anyway.

Honda will charge you £80 upwards for a set but Opie Oils will do it for nearer £38.
It is done at 54k / 6yr service.
I supplied my own (from Opie)and Honda were happy to fit.
My S although now 6 years old has only done 39,000.

The Honda plugs are iridium or platinum (I forget which)
I assume they last a bit longer than standard plugs
I probably wouldn't bother but like you say it's only a few £££

They will be platinum, several posts on the forum indicate that the dealers use the plugs listed in the first row below:
Someone please correct me if I'm wrong!
