Default Speed camera detectors

I don't have a speed camera detector at present but reckon that once I get my s2000 next April it will be a good (necessary?) addition, if I'm to keep my licence down to the 3 points I currently have. I got those after driving through a local camera at 47mph (7mph over), after I'd been away from the wheel for three months whilst having major surgery. I just forgot it was there

Anyway, given the recent government announcement it might be best getting a GPS type as these should still be allowed. So any preferences/recommendations from you guys, either ones to go for, or ones to avoid.

I'd be grateful for any help.

IMO the Origin B2

Database seems more reliable and more regularly updated than Road Angel

I'll go with the originb2.

AS far as new legilation is concerned - how on earth are the police going to control mobile phones, camera detectors, hatched crossings, traffic lights, car tax, insurance and all the other thousand and one things that have been added to the "lets persecute the motorist" list? Impossible!

p.s. and illegal numberplates!

Under Blunkett's proposed new legislation, "detectors" will be made illegal but GPS devices (such as the Origin b2) will be exempt. However, the b2's laser detector will be a bit iffy, I suspect.

My b2 was pinging away goodo today on the run through the Borders. Just past Coldstream, I was giving it three figures until Madam shouted "Gatso ... 60" . Can't be certain I'd have spotted the barsteward either, so reckon it's nearly paid for itself.

Of course, if speed cameras are there to slow down traffic at accident black spots (which is what the government has always claimed) as opposed to generating revenue, surely detectors would be a GOOD thing.

Surely they aren't lying and using it as another stealth tax! That would be fibbing! Next you'll be telling me that Iraq wasn't stuffed full of WMDs!!

Agree with comments above I have now upgraded to an Origin b2 from a road angel and feel that it is MUCH better, as well as smaller, easier to take indoors to update too.
