Standing just after a change in speed limits is what they normally do - even those of us who ought to know better tend to be a bit lax in the decelerating dept. so it's kerching!

Good luck with it anyway!

unless it was recording which I doubt , you'll be fine, like eSem said unless it took your picture they would have to pull you over
Speed guns don't record and they don't need a photo. If it was 2 officers with high vis on then one will be checking the speed and the other will write down your reg.

I've had this happen to me before. It's then your word against them if you want to argue the toss. They are usually sneaky and hide at the end of a road beside a wall or next to a tree in the shade on a nice sunny day so you don't see them until the last moment. But then, you shouldn't be speeding! lol
I asked a lawyer who said they must either stop and caution you at the time or have photographic evidence.
they can't just use a hand held speed gun and write down your reg.

My conviction was 4 years ago now so perhaps the law has changed. I got 4 points and a £65 fine. To be fair it was January and icy and I was doing well over 40 on a 30 road up a hill in my Impreza Type R!

We regularly get a couple of officers standing at the junction into the ind estate were I work, they use a hand held camera the size of 40fags, if someone is speeding they are pulled over and informed of the actions being taken at the time, you may well be ok, although I'm in Scotland and it could be different here.

It's been a while since I looked into it but it used to be up to 6 months for a speeding ticket in the post...Google it.

Do you know how accurate your speedo is? Put a SatNav on and compare them.
Mine is pretty good (only loosing about 1mph at 30mph but some are very different).

I have also searched but can't seem to find Wiltshire's allowance for speeding.
In Norfolk I know it's 10% + 3 and 10% + 2 in Suffolk.

10% + 2 is the norm so... 30mph + 10% + 2 is 35mph - your over clocked speedo.

But as others have said above - you should be pulled over straight away.... OR if it wasn't an officer and was actually a volunteer (more likely now) then you wll get a polite letter saying you were spotted and please don't do it again.

Hope this helps.
