Default Tape/CD Player

I take it, that the head unit can be removed. Im not too keen on the tape/cd changer setup, and would like to install a Sony head unit I have. It looks like its the devils own job to get the stock one out, is there any instructions that anyone has on removing said head unit and fitting a different one?

Thanks,

Ben

Tis one of the easiest I've had to change. A little constrained in terms of space to fit it and the wiring (and your hands), but otherwise fairly simple. Gear knob off (one nut), console cover off (pull! And disconnect switches), radio door/surround off (pull!), and 4 screws to remove radio. You may have to swap the bracket across to the new radio, but that's just a couple more screws.

No need to take the gear knob off, just shift it into 2nd, 4th or 6th to move it out the way

Ah, that's true. I just always found it easier with the console cover out the way.
