Well I've got all this fun to come a little later this year.

I'll be looking for a sub-20k car, almost certainly 2nd hand. I'll have to get test drives of the S2k, Elise, M Coupe (that could be tricky), VX220 and just to satisfy my curiousity - 147 GTA + Alfa GT Jtd.

As I doubt I'll be taken seriously turning up in my 306 (immaculate as it is <See here> I guess I'll have to borrow the Celica for dealers to take me seriously.

With that said, I've got a drive of a new 6-series next monday but that's through work. The only time I've been given the keys to a car and allowed on an unacompannied test drive was at Westfield, in December when it was fecking freezing and probably a tad icy! However, I did end up buying one from them 1 month later.

John Cooper Honda gave me the keys to an S and told me to come back anytime that day that suited me. Full tank of petrol as well. No funny insurance arrangements either.

However, this was after they'd taken some personal details and had obviously satified themselves that I was a reasonable prospect.

Say you were selling a house worth say,

I wouldn't worry about it. I got a test drive of a brand new 04 S2000 despite telling the dealers that I was only after a used car, and given the amount I was prepared to spend, they knew it would be unlikely to come from a dealer.
I turned up in a knackered, old, dirty, Saab 9000 2.3T that later only sold for

Haha, if you're bored you can make a CF aeroscreen for my westy

Even better, you can finish the damn car for me cos I've lost all enthusiasm

Right, back on topic - I think I'll get myself insured on the Celica for a week and get a whole load of test drives booked...

Sorry can't, I don't have the moulds for them anymore!

I'd love to - really miss tinkering with the car since I sold it. Bring all the bits over here and I'll get it sorted for ya!
