I test drive an S2000 yesterday with the roof off and noticed a faint ticking when driving between hedgerows or walls where the sound was being reflected back at me, is this normal? It didn't seem to speed up or slow down with the speed of the car.

"They all do that sir"
It is a character of the engine.
It is just more noticeable when the sound is reflected back in to the cabin.

I've always found that odd - not sure what it is.

Injectors tick at idle though.

My guess at that is the VTEC lobe/rocker just flopping away from not being used.
