Default Tips for removing fuel lines

Anyone have any tips for removing the two fuel lines from the fuel pump casing?

I know you just pinch the retainer and pull, but I cannot for the life of me get the one off that is off centre to the entrance hole.

My fingers and blistered from pulling and I can't get a decent angle to apply any real pull.

Replaced my fuel lines three years ago. Had issues with the same section but can't remember how we did it in the end. Horrible job. Good luck

I found a fine selection of long-nosed/long-handled pliers in the boot of mine, after they changed the fuel filter.

And they forgot to re-connect the fuel gauge...
