Track tyres for OEM16" Wheels
Now that I'm soon to have my BBS alloys fitted, I'll have a spare set of scabby OEMs for track use.
What are my options for track day tyres?
Do I get something fancy for lots more grip, or do I just get something a bit more budget orientated?
Or just get another set of RE050s, as they are not that expensive anyway.

R888s and A048s come in the "right" sizes (i.e. the same as the ones marked on the tyres). Judging by Chilled's car they make more of a difference than any amount of money spent on suspension mods.
I'm not so convinced by my Hankook RS2s. On the plus side they did take the heat: it felt like I could have driven all day on them at Donington, unlike the S02s which would overheat after 5 laps. But they're softer than the Bridgestones and although I quite liked that on the road, on the track they didn't seem to work that well. But they are cheap and probably a good compromise, and it depends how you drive.

The A048's are ace.
bear in mind that they are shit it the wet and cold, they wear out quickly and tramline like nothing else. But on a warm dry day they stick like faeces to a comforter.
And they're going to wear your suspension out quicker. ARB's are recommended as a minimum with them.

I don't know why Camskill have hidden their R888 prices, but judging by www.r888.co.uk they're not much cheaper than the Yokos.
