Default Used Zaino for the first time yesterday

5 1/2 hours work, I'm knackered from it and the neighbour's think I'm a nutter!

So, am I pleased? Not sure to be honest, I think I was expecting more.

I started buy stripping the car of any wax, best way is to use the shampoo and rinse from a garage. The shampoo has a truck cleaner in it and it strips you car of any thing on it. As I was rinsing the car off the bloody hose broke and my Jeans were soaked.

I've used Auto Glym tar remover, then checked the body work and still super smooth, didn't feel the need to clay bar it. I moved on to Meguiars scratchX to get the worst of the swirls out. Didn't get them all but will need to use a buffer if I want to get it any better.

I brought the Zaino Z-2 and the ZFX cure. I filled one of the 2oz bottles with Z2 and added about 7 drops of the ZFX cure. Out of a 2oz bottle I was able to put 3 coats on including the wheels and still had loads left over, note for next time: 3/4 of a bottle is plenty for 3 layers.

They say the polish goes a long way and it does, I found I used more on the 1st layer than the other 2, the more layers the less polish you use! It does go on very easy and after leaving for 1/2 hour to cure, it came straight off. Just remember to shake the cloth regularly as the polish turns white it leaves white specs on the cloth, they eventually end up going back on the car and need to be brushed off. Admittedly I did forget to use my Meguiars quick detailer between coats, I think this would of made a difference, and an even more noticeable difference if you had the Zaino Z-5 (gloss enhancer). With out them I though the 3rd layer didn't really make much of a difference. 2 layers was fine.

So how does it look? Hmm, well after 5 1/2 hours It does look brand new, not bad for a 5 year old car with almost 50K miles on! Can the same effect be done from different polish, I think it could.

summary
Negative: 'I' think you need to use the whole Zaino range, including the swirl remover, gloss enhancer, wet look polish and ZFX to REALLY make a difference.
Positive: After 80 miles of driving with the polish on, it really still looks clean, it doesn't attract dust like the Auto Glym and Megs, so a double for that.

I need to consider buying the gloss enhancer, is it really worth it???

Did you layer Z6 with the Z2?

You DEFINATELY need Z6 anyway

The less you use on each coat the better It doesnt work well applying lots.

As Ian says, Z6 is the key. I think that you'll be impressed when you wash & Z6 the car in the future though - the polish stays on the car for ages.

I did my beater, a Y reg Civic, a couple of weeks back. It took over 8 hours and my neighbor thought I'd gone mad. He kept saying things like "It's not funny any more". This was my method:-

1) Washed car with washing up liquid to remove existing wax (Tesco's Ultra).
2) Washed car with car shampoo to get rid of the above (Cheap Zymol shampoo)
3) Clayed with Maguires clay bar. This took over 2 hours, there were quite a few little marks to get rid of.
4) Cleaned the paint with Zymol HD cleanse. At this stage the car gleamed.
5) Covered car with Zaino Z1 (I don't use ZFX) left to dry
6) Applied a coat of Zaino Z2 left to dry, then polished off.
7) Applied a coat of Zaino Z6

Next day another hour
8) Applied a coat of Zaino Z5 then polished off.
9) And then a final coat of Zaino Z6.
