Good news - honda have agreed to pay the cost of the VSA module, I just got to pay the fitting cost of £116. So I'm fairly happy. Good luck with yours Dave, just keep pushing Honda

Good news pal, was yours a UK model or Euro import.

regards

Dave

PS. Is there anything I can threaten Honda with on the grounds of the VSA being a safety feature not living upto expentation considering the limited mileage if done.

Met another member yesterday that has also had the VSA error light come on, also after being parked up for a period.

Ninebolts,

Is he in or out of warranty. Funny I thought T was the only won but it seems to be all smoke and mirrors with it being possibly quiet a common fact.

Hope your pal is fine, get him to log his story as it might he some else in the future.

regards

Dave

Ninebolts was referring to my car (honest guys the VSA light was on well before I went near the Airfield yesterday!).

Yes the car had been standing for nearly 4 weeks. I took it out to 'warm' it up for the Airfield day last week and the light just came on. No slides or anything silly - just came on for no reason.

I called Chiswick Honda today and they will diagnose on Wednesday. As I only bought the car earlier this year from a Honda dealer it should be covered by the extended warranty. I'll let you know what happens.

uk car, i think it helped that the dealer had only had the car in for its first MOT a couple of months before when it got a clean bill of health.

I would go to Honda and tell them that the part was clearly never fit for purpose and a key safety feature should last more than 3 years - especially as it is not a wear and tear item as such. I have heard people before managing to sucessfully purpose manufacturers out of warranty for unfit for purpose failures

are these all 2007 cars? if so then was there a manufacturing problem with these units at the time?

Hi Guys,

In light of the fact that Honda have initally refused to help me with the VSA problem, can anyone give me advice on the best way to approach this situation i.e. letter, strong phone call or who to speaking with or contact concerning this problem.

Any help / advice would be grateful.

Dave

Mine's a 2007 - no problems so far. However, there does seem to be a theme that the cars were left for a period of time.

The OP only has 12k on his car and another comment mentioned warming the car up after 4 weeks inactivity.

Convinces me to use my car more often - although for all the ribbing I get she does now have 23k on the clock!
