A 9,200 is right on the limit of what is likely to last on a standard engine for road use.

On the standard engine, peak power is normally around 8,300. The engine setup doesn't benefit from more revs especially.

When modding the F20C for road miles, better to improve the top end of low cam, and a slight rev limiter rise make more sense. If you really want to raise the rev limit 500rpm safely you have to change quite a few parts. No point really for most people - for it to be worth it, you're looking at non 'bolt on' mods which while they give better gains than bolt ons, seem to scare people. Hence you don't see many...

Yeah but forget about fuel maps and timing and all those things that don't matter much, could wiring it like I said put it on high cam with a flick of a switch?

Brian - what kind of non bolt on mods would you recommend? I am not afraid of modifying the internals of the engine but moreso of the inept tuners we have in the South - i.e. TDi, Power Engineering and the likes...
