Default Vtec not engaging

Hi all, drove to the airport tonight, normally when I boot it I hear a rasp from the k&n as the vtech kicks in, tonight nothing, there was a slight pull as it hit 6 k but no roar, any ideas,

Oil checked every week, but will check when I return home on friday

1: Oil level
2: Up to temperature?
3: Check vtec solenoid connections

It's fine. The ECU can mess with the fuelling to mute the noise depending on a number of factors.

It gives context.

If Liverpool airport, you can razz it down the old ford road. (Is it still called that?)

If Manchester, you can razz it down the M56.

As Ron said, it'll be fine Graham. Apparently they have never had one fail, or something like that. Sometimes I get a definite crossover sound, sometimes I don't.

Thanks guys, I'll double check everything anyhow,

I razz it down the old ford road onto the 56 and then razz it again

Everyone is probably right. Sometimes I find the quality of the road surface and the noise produced through the tyres/cabin can mask it.

Hope its all gravy G.

Just don't razz it too hard, not a lot of people or cars can take a hard razzing.
