Default Water in the boot

Checked the oil at lunchtime, needed a little top up so popped the boot to get my little refil bottle out and noticed a puddle of water about 1cm deep in the wheel well!

I checked the seal around the boot opening, but it looks to be in ok condition. Is there another known entry point of water or should I be looking at the seal in more detail?

Thanks!

Softtop drainage ducts, located just behind the doors down the gap between the body/ softtop, either its blocked or the rubber pipes have perished.

Can also be from the little plastic flap behind the bumper(rear bumper off job) where needs some sealant round the gasket.

Should be able to find this info on the search.

There's a mountain of information on the forum regarding this topic.

It is always worth searching first, but here you go: Leaking in the Boot!

OK, so the drainage pipes seem to be clear...

Inside the petrol cap, there appear to be little holes at the bottom welds:

Could the water be coming in through here? And if so, what's the best way of stopping it... don't want white silicone all around my filler cap!

Although they do look like holes I would be surprised if that much water can get in through them!

In any case fill them with body filler, and then use a touch-up pen of the correct colour.
