Default what went wrong?

started car up this morning and left to idle for a few moments to help defrost the screen.
bout 2-3mins later the EPS light comes on. no assistance.
weird. so turn off ignition for a few seconds, and start backup. light still on.

not having time to mess about with it a set off for work. mearly 200yards down the road the lights comes off and EPS re-engages all by itself.

had the car since mid october and it's never come on before. was fine when i left work to come home: no EPS light on, EPS working fine.

was parked the same as it has every day since i bought it (nose down hill, half on kerb), and no leaks apparent last time i checked (xmas)

anyone have a guess at what happened?

If you rev it for too long when stationary it will set off the EPS.

Once you pull awy and turn the wheel, it goes off.

Mine did this when very cold once. Been known to happen. Not an issue AFAIK, unless it always stays on.
